Samsung Blue Earth Eco-Friendly Cell Phone
Samsung launched Samsung Blue Earth, an environmental friendly cell phone with a full touch screen. Blue Earth is made from PCM (Post Consumer Material), which is extracted from water bottles, helping to cut fuel consumption and carbon emissions throughout the manufacturing procedure. The gadget, as well as the charger, is free from dangerous materials such as BFR (Brominated Flame Retardants), PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) and Phthalate. Samsung Blue Earth is set to launch in Sweden in October 2009 and will shortly launch in Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Portugal and other Asian and European countries.
The hottest in a series of eco-friendly products, Blue Earth comes with an outstanding user interface, which is designed to draw awareness to protect our fragile environment.
"Eco Walk" function allows users to count up their steps with a built in pedometer and calculate the decrease in CO2 emission realized by walking as opposed to using a motor vehicle. This exclusive function allows users to see the importance of walking by calculating the number of trees that have been saved.
With "Eco mode", screen brightness, backlight time interval and Blue tooth can be put to an energy efficient mode with just one click.
Blue Earth comes with energy efficient charger, which uses only 0.03 Watt of power in standby mode. In addition, by charging with the solar panel located on the backside of the phone, users can generate sufficient power to use the device anytime and at anyplace.
